A Casa di Amici: A Friendly Hostel In Palermo
A Casa di Amici is a great choice for a hostel in Palermo. The owners stay on the property and were very friendly and helpful. They were always around to answer my questions about getting around Palermo and gave great advice about the places that I should visit while there. A Casa di Amici’s location was also very convenient in the Politeama area of the city. I loved that if I needed a break from sight-seeing the hotel was never very far away. They had a great common area to chill out and meet other guests. Santo makes drums and his drums were on display throughout the hostel. The architecture of…

The Sanctuary Resort at Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand
I ended my three months of traveling throughout Indonesia and Sri Lanka at the Sanctuary Resort in Thailand. There were things I absolutely loved about it and some things that weren’t so great. I wasn’t expecting it to be, but for those who don’t know this, it’s definitely not a resort. I tend to shy away from “resorts”, so this was fine by me. However, I did find the Sanctuary to be outrageously overpriced, especially by Thailand standards. I paid around $45/night, and that was for a room with no air conditioning and a very uncomfortable hard bed. To use the restroom, I had to enter a door next to…

Clock Inn-A Cheap Hotel In Colombo, Sri Lanka
If you are looking for a cheap hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the Clock Inn is a good place to stay. It is in a great location on Galle Road close to good restaurants such as the Barefoot Garden Cafe and The Gallery Cafe. The room is stylish, though small, in the European fashion. It is fairly clean. I did find several hairs on the floor, so it’s not immaculately clean, but clean enough. There are both private rooms and dorm rooms. The private rooms have AC, free Wi-Fi, a TV with LCD flat screen, and hot water. They are $50 a night. The dorm rooms are $16 a night and…

Raja Ampat Dive Resort-Where To Stay In Raja Ampat
If you have never been to Raja Ampat, getting there is half the battle. First you must fly to Sorong, and then take the public ferry over to Waisai . Then, you must hire a speedboat to take you to the island that your hotel or resort is located on. Before you leave, you must also secure a marine pass for the area. What I loved about the Raja Ampat Dive Resort is that they made all of this hassle so easy to deal with. The owner met me at the airport when my flight came in. He took care of my marine pass, and since we had five hours…

Bedulu Resort-One Of The Best Places To Stay In Amed, Bali
Are you looking for places to stay in Amed, Bali? The Bedulu Resort is a true haven which impressed me from the moment that I arrived. I arrived hot and sticky from the boat over from the Gili Islands and walked up the few steps to the open air restaurant which doubles as a lobby for the hotel. I didn’t have to walk many steps before I was greeted by three smiling Balinese faces (their smiles just melt by heart) who rushed towards me to take the bags from my hands and help me up the stairs. I was led inside and told to sit where I was then greeted…
