The Equus Hotel Waikiki: A Honolulu Boutique Hotel
The Equus Hotel Waikiki is located on the quiet side of Waikiki, right on Ala Moana Blvd. This is the home of the Hawai‘i Polo Club where polo matches, polo lessons and spectacular trail rides become available to hotel guests. It’s a locally owned hotel, something you don’t find much of anymore in Honolulu, and this fact really shows up in the service from the friendly staff. You really feel the aloha spirit here and that the staff will do anything to make sure you have a comfortable stay.
Location Of The Equus Hotel
This hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk to Ala Moana Center, the main shopping mall in Honolulu. It’s also convenient to the convention center and the marina. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the beach. By staying here, you avoid the loud night time noise of Waikiki, but you do get very loud traffic noise from Ala Moana Blvd, so if noise is a problem for you, it’s something you should know.
Equus Hotel Rooms
I stayed in a City View King Room. I found it to be charming, and the pillow-top bed was extremely comfortable. There was a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room as well as a flat-screen TV.
There was also a lanai, which is always nice to have in Hawaii to sit outside and enjoy the breezy tradewinds.
Their were Earth Tempo eco-friendly products in the bathroom and the towels were of a good quality.
I was really impressed with the pineapple that was delivered to my room within seconds of my arrival. It made me feel truly welcomed to Hawaii. Small touches like this did a lot to set the Equus Hotel apart from many of the other giant hotels in Waikiki.
If you are looking for a boutique hotel in Honolulu with friendly personal service and comfortable, sylish rooms, you will enjoy staying at The Equus.
