The Best Ideas For Places To Visit In Canada
1. The City Seeker
If you’re a city person looking for shopping, dining, and cultural activities, I’d recommend either Toronto, Vancouver, or Montreal. Vancouver has a more laid back feeling than Toronto. The people in Vancouver spend their days skiing, surfing, and strolling through Stanley Park.
Vancouver has more of a hippie, outdoorsy culture, while Toronto has more in terms of museums, art and night life. Toronto has an incredible mix of cultures (such as Greektown, Little India and Koreatown). Montreal has a lot of artsy, bohemian types. Somebody who’s into large scale nightclubs, historic architecture, and a wide availability of French pastries will really enjoy Montreal. Boulevard Saint-Laurent is a world-class shopping district during the day.
2. For Outdoor Adventure And Wildlife
If it’s outdoor adventure ideas for places to visit in Canada that you’re looking for, then head to Newfoundland. See the icebergs at Newfoundland’s Iceberg Alley, kayak with whales, or dive to the shipwreck sites off Bell Island. There are plenty of hiking trails to walk in the summer, and in winter snowmobiling, skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding all give you plenty to do.
3. Nature Enthusiasts, Ski Bunnies, And Luxury Seekers
Banff, a mountain resort town at the foothills of the Rockies, is the place to go for skiing, biking, or hiking. There are stunning luxury hotels and spas to pamper you after your days of activity. The hot springs will beckon you to soak and let all of your cares float away. Don’t miss Lake Louise, the Alpine lake known for its sparkling blue waters.
4. The Road Tripper
If you enjoy road trips, Canada is a great place to take them. This way you get to see more than just one area. I recommend Ontario as a great spot for your roadtrip. Start out by enjoying the city life in Toronto, head to Kingston for its food, then to Ottawa for its culture and history. Take a canoe trip in Huntsville, a beautiful waterfront community that also has great shopping.
5. The Golfer
Prince Edward Island is Canada’s #1 golf destination, and has ten of the top 100 golf courses in Canada. The courses are beautiful, and you have a lot of scenery to choose from. Whether you want a course by the forest, river, or ocean, you can take your pick. The courses are especially beautiful in Autumn when the leaves change colors.
6. If You Love Paris
17th and 18th century buildings, bakeries, and coffee shops line the cobblestone streets, and remind many people of Paris in Quebec City. You’ll love Château Frontenac (the world’s most photographed hotel), the architecture, and the historic sites. There are charming B&B’s and hotels to stay at, and some of the best cuisine in Canada.
7. For Train Lovers
Canada offers incredible trips by train where you can see astounding views and more of the beautiful countryside. I highly recommend the Rocky Mountaineer train where you will see wildlife, glacier fed lakes, and beautiful forests. You even have the option of seeing the views from a glass-domed carriage which is truly memorable.
