I thought it was the best decision ever to stay in Brighton rather than make the trek to London for a recent flight leaving from Gatwick Airport. It was an even better decision to stay at NINETEEN,  a 7 bedroom luxury B&B in the heart of Brighton. I was greeted by the very hospitable Mark and Arif, who made me feel right at home as soon as I walked into the charming Victorian townhouse.

The Superior King Room At NINETEEN Brighton Guesthouse

The first thing I noticed about the Superior King room was all of the light pouring in. I love rooms that get lots of light. It gave the room a crisp, airy feel. The room had a very comfortable bed with high thread count sheets and the loftiest duvet ever. All I wanted to do was curl up and sleep in it, it was so welcoming.

Since I work on the road, I enjoy having a desk or table in the room, and I enjoyed having such a stylish one at this Brighton guesthouse. The room also had lots of thoughtful touches such as bluetooth speakers, a smart TV, robe, and even slippers.

The room was immaculately clean and felt very calming and peaceful. I was also impressed that you could borrow a laptop if you didn’t have one of your own. Really, it felt like Mark and Arif had thought of everything.

The bathroom was spacious and had a beautiful bathtub that I wanted to float away in. The shower was strong and powerful, and I loved the natural aromatherapy products that smelled of lavender and ylang ylang.

Breakfast was an event, and you could either have a continental breakfast delivered to your room or pay a small supplement and go to a local café for a cooked breakfast.

I’m a big fan of the full English breakfast, so I opted for the café option and enjoyed a lovely breakfast before my long flight.

The other great feature of this Brighton guesthouse was the communal kitchen (I’m so envious of that stove!). You could help yourself to coffee or tea, and NINETEEN had over thirty teas to choose from.

Overall, my time at NINETEEN was even better than I expected, and I will definitely stay here again if I return to Brighton. The excellent location, friendly hosts, and luxury feel of the guesthouse left me feeling calm and relaxed before a very long flight home.
