Relaxing On The River At The Riva Surya Hotel Bangkok
I had been in Bangkok for almost two weeks when I got the lovely opportunity to stay at the Riva Surya Hotel. I am a huge fan of small boutique hotels, and I have to say I loved the Riva Surya the moment I walked in. I received the warmest welcome from the staff, and immediately walked out to the beautiful infinity pool that overlooks the Chao Praya river. I enjoyed the feeling of tranquility from staying on the river. Watching the boats go by was such a soothing way to experience Bangkok.
I stayed in a Deluxe Riva room, and my favorite part was having my own private balcony that overlooked the river. The room also had soothing colors which brought out the water element that was the theme of this hotel. The spacious room was stylish and had everything I needed, including an iPod dock for listening to music.
The bed was extremely comfortable (once I got rid of the kissing elephants ;). The rainfall shower was a nice touch, and I also loved the big size of the bathroom.
The breakfast buffet is also great with lots of healthy options. I also liked being able to get eggs “made to order each morning”, and the chef made me stir-fried kale and garlic, too, as a lovely side even though it wasn’t one of the usual offerings.
The service of the staff at the Riva Surya really stood out, and they always aimed to please.
The hotel is in a lively neighborhood, and is very close to Khao San Road and the Grand Palace area. It’s also very close to the No. 13 Pier where you can take a boat to get to other areas of the city. Prah Ahtit road has a lot of great coffee shops and restaurants on it, too. Don’t miss Hemlock across the street which serves a lot of ancient Thai dishes that are hard to find at most places. The coconut chicken banana flower salad is a must!
If you are looking for a stylish hotel in Bangkok that makes you feel welcome and gives you a retreat from the hectic pace, then Riva Surya is a great choice.

Hi, how are you? That’s good that you experienced to visit in Thailand. Many of my friends and co-workers have been in Thailand already. I wish that I can visit in Thailand, soon. I love to eat spicy dishes too especially the curries. Don’t forget the Thai iced tea that you will make cool and refreshing. I know that Thailand is also a humid area like in Philippines. Have a nice trip and travel always. I hope that you will visit in San Francisco soon.
