BREAKING NEWS: Should You Still Travel To Thailand? What The News Isn’t Showing You!

    May 24, 2014 / 59 Comments

Those being held in custody included Suthep Thaugsuban and Jatuporn Prompan, respectively leaders of the anti-government and pro-government factions.  ‘We will keep you together until you love and understand each other,” was the message from a source close to the generals.Another version quoted General Prayuth as saying: ”They quarrel so much, have ’em live together ’til they love each other.” Later, the army announced on television the names of 18 people who should report to the army. First on the list was deposed caretaker Prime Minister Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan. -Phuketwan.com “No phrase of the young is more revolutionary than that odd cry ‘Zap them right back with super-love.’ If this became a…

3 Thailand Beaches That You Just Shouldn’t Miss

    September 3, 2013 / 15 Comments

Everyone loves Thailand beaches.  The question that everyone has when booking their holidays to Thailand is which ones they should visit.  Well, I have found three stunning Thailand beaches that not only will make you feel like you have found Paradise, but also aren’t crowded with hordes of people.  These beaches will make you feel like you have truly escaped. My Favorite Thailand Beaches 1.  Sunrise Beach, Koh Lipe Koh Lipe isn’t the easiest island in Thailand to get to, but it is worth the journey. This is an island that isn’t overrun by tourists. In fact, there isn’t even a 7-11. Sunrise Beach was by far my favorite Thailand beach.  I…

The Sanctuary Resort at Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand

    August 17, 2013 / 9 Comments

I ended my three months of traveling throughout Indonesia and Sri Lanka at the Sanctuary Resort in Thailand. There were things I absolutely loved about it and some things that weren’t so great. I wasn’t expecting it to be, but for those who don’t know this, it’s definitely not a resort. I tend to shy away from “resorts”, so this was fine by me. However, I did find the Sanctuary to be outrageously overpriced, especially by Thailand standards.  I paid around $45/night, and that was for a room with no air conditioning and a very uncomfortable hard bed.  To use the restroom, I had to enter a door next to…

    Thailand

    February 3, 2013 / No Comments

Thailand is one of those exotic places where all the senses are aroused at once.  The scent of jasmine intoxicates the mind while delicious foods, sizzling on grills and woks, constantly beckon your mouth to taste them.  It can be full of activity, or you can find yourself on a remote beach with nothing but the sound of the ocean waves to lull you to sleep.  Thailand, just the word, causes me to smile and my stomach to growl.  Thailand is also very easy to get around in to see its many different parts.  There is a train that will take you from Bangkok up to the northern areas.  You…

    You Must Speak Like Water

    January 24, 2013 / No Comments

“You must speak like water,” were the words spoken to me by Rafa,  my new friend from Spain.  He and his girlfriend, Kristina, were trying to teach me Spanish. I was speaking too slowly for them and not flowing in my words. It was then that I realized this really should be a metaphor for our lives. We should live like water. Flowing gently, turning and twisting to form our own path but never losing that power that makes water so strong.  So strong to even make rocks smooth.  You must speak like water. Live like water. Shaping our own paths and influencing other peoples lives. We had met on…
