Indonesia
Indonesia has over 20,000 islands, many of them uninhabited. On these islands, you will find raw beauty, deserted beaches, a beautiful culture, and places that you will never want to leave. On my visit, I visited Bali, the Gili Islands of Lombok, Maluku, Raja Ampat of Papua, and Sumatra. All these places were incredibly different and took my breath away. Bali was my very favorite island in Indonesia not only overall, but also culture and food-wise. For the diving and snorkeling, there is no place in the world like Raja Ampat. The most beautiful beach was on the Kei Islands. But the Gili Islands are still my favorite island escape…

Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic has some of the best beaches in the world, the best fish that I’ve ever tasted in my life, and some of the friendliest people. When I went, I explored the areas of Santo Domingo and the Samana Peninsula. The city of Santo Domingo has very interesting architecture and is a very lively city to explore. There are many beaches just a short distance away. The Samana Peninsula took my breath away with the beauty of its beaches. I am not sure that I’ve ever seen prettier ones. One of the best things about the Dominican Republic is that it’s pretty much a year-round destination. The temperatures…

Belize
Belize is one of those places that once you arrive, you immediately start breathing slower, walking slower, and even thinking slower. You start wondering what all the rush was about back home, and you start taking notice of the small moments. The way the breeze sounds as it rushes through the palm trees, the frigate birds and the way they swoop through the air, the days that the sea is smooth as glass, the smiles that other people are giving you. I only got to scratch the surface of things when I went to Belize, and I definitely plan on returning for more. I went to Ambergris Caye and…

Mexico
Oh, Mexico!! The very word conjures up thoughts of gorgeous beaches, some of the best food I’ve ever tasted, beautiful passionate people, colorful markets, and a place, that everytime I go, I say that I will never leave. Mexico is definitely a place that I’m not through exploring yet. Another great thing about Mexico is that it is very affordable. The price of hotels, food, and transportation is very reasonable. The bus system in Mexico is extensive and makes it very easy to get from one place to another without spending a fortune. You can also barter with the taxi drivers on the price before you agree to get in their…

Thailand
Thailand is one of those exotic places where all the senses are aroused at once. The scent of jasmine intoxicates the mind while delicious foods, sizzling on grills and woks, constantly beckon your mouth to taste them. It can be full of activity, or you can find yourself on a remote beach with nothing but the sound of the ocean waves to lull you to sleep. Thailand, just the word, causes me to smile and my stomach to growl. Thailand is also very easy to get around in to see its many different parts. There is a train that will take you from Bangkok up to the northern areas. You…
