Learn How To Paint In Bali
Ubud, Bali is home to many artists and painters. I knew before I arrived that one of the things I wanted to learn while I was here was how to paint. I wasn’t sure, though, how to go about finding someone to teach me. As I was wandering the streets of Ubud one afternoon, some guys who were sitting on the sidewalk asked where I was going. I decided to ask them if they knew where I could take a painting class. They laughed, both moved in opposite directions to reveal a sign that said, “Open Painting Class-Have Fun Time With Balinese Artist.” I knew, immediately, that I was meant…

How To Travel: What Kind Of Traveler Are You?
How to travel is a question that is very much on everyone’s minds. Most people are curious about how to find the cheapest airline ticket, the best-priced hotel, or how to find all the places that the Lonely Planet has already discovered. Oh, the dilemma. When planning a trip, should you book everything ahead of time, or just do it as you travel, allowing yourself to be spontaneous and to go with the flow. I am a planner. Saving Money For Travel: How I Saved $300 With This Basket Of Cinnamon Rolls
Saving money to travel with. Many people ask me how I am able to do it. It seems that there is a whole economy that people have forgotten about. The bartering economy is the best way I know of to save money. I am about to leave on a three-month travel adventure to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. And, I knew that I was going to need to have yard work done while I was gone. I usually do my yard work myself, so I just don’t have the money to spend on a gardener while I’m gone. Well, fortunately I came up with a plan! I knew how much…

Beach Wisdom
1. Be careful where you hang your sarong. Otherwise you just might find yourself chasing it down the beach flashlight in hand at 2 AM. 2. Study the hermit crabs. They are fascinating. Of course, the best time for this is 2am flashlight in hand. 3. You can always get more people on the boat than you think. Really. 4. When watching the sunset try to view what’s really happening. Imagine rolling back on the earth instead of seeing the sun sink. It is we that are moving. Not the sun. 5. Have sand stuck to some part of your body at all times. This won’t be hard. 6. Let…
