The Algarve is a spectacular area of Portugal and most people staying in Faro are either coming or going from the airport or visiting to see the gorgeous Deserta Island. When I visited Faro, I stayed at the Hotel Faro, and the location couldn’t have been better. It was located in the marina area, just steps away from the bus station and the main shopping areas. The Faro beach is about 9 km away.

The spacious room had a comfy bed, and the best pillows I’ve ever slept on while traveling. (Fluffy goose down pillows)  There was also a refrigerator, nice leather chairs to relax in, and a flat screen TV. It was very modern and had great style and design.

The marble bathroom even came with French bath salts, and I took a relaxing bath in the huge bathtub. The hotel was whisper-quiet, and I had a great night’s sleep.

My flight left too early to enjoy the breakfast, but the staff was kind enough to leave fruit, bread, jam, and juice in my room for the next morning.  The hotel has its own restaurants, and a conference room for business travelers. In fact, the Hotel Faro seemed to cater to business travelers which I liked because it let to a calm and quiet atmosphere.

Speaking of the morning, I was very impressed that the man at the front desk helped me with my bags at 4 in the morning! The hotel was less than five miles from the airport which was convenient, since I had an early flight.
