13 Reasons To Love Yelapa, Mexico
I have to admit, when I first arrived in Yelapa, Mexico, I wasn’t sure I liked it. I’ll be honest, for me, it doesn’t measure up to my favorite place in Mexico, Zipolite. In Zipolite, you can see both the sun rise and the sun set from the beach, but in Yelapa, at the time of year that I went, I could see neither. There were far too many expats, day trippers from Puerto Vallarta, and lackluster food experiences in Yelapa for my taste. But, then I realized there was a lot of beauty around me, and that to truly enjoy myself, I had to stop comparing it to places…

MiraMar: Stay In A Beach Casa In Yelapa, Mexico
If you’ve ever imagined having your own casa in Mexico that overlooks the beach, you can make that dream come true at MiraMar Yelapa. MiraMar is located in the fishing village of Yelapa, Mexico. It is made up of 5 houses that all have gorgeous views of the bay. I loved falling asleep to the sounds of ocean waves each night and lying in the hammock on my private patio while watching the moon rise each night. Why You Definitely Want To See The Marietas Islands With MiraMar Excursions
In the Bay of Banderas, just off the coast of Yelapa, Mexico is a preserved bird sanctuary with so many birds, you won’t believe it. The Marietas Islands is the only nesting ground besides the Galapagos Islands where you will find the blue-footed booby. This is also where you will find, “The Hidden Beach” (which isn’t so hidden, as it’s visited daily by hundreds of tourists.) It’s absolutely stunning, and the amount of wildlife you will see is absolutely incredible. I went with MiraMar Excursions and what a memorable trip it was! Seeing humpback whales on the trip was the highlight of the trip. There were also dolphins, and I…

Vereda: A Jungle Oasis Place To Stay In Yelapa, Mexico
When I entered the jungle grounds of Vereda, in Yelapa, Mexico, I felt my entire body relax. After the busy madness of Puerto Vallarta, arriving at Vereda seemed like something out of a dream. Set in the jungle part of Yelapa, I walked down the magical vined walkway to a Paradise full of butterflies, iguanas, and beautiful jungle birds. For my first few nights, I stayed in the Palapa Primavera, a gorgeous palapa cabin that brought so much nature inside the cabin. I loved having my own private outdoor area, and the way that jungle vines provided the ceiling for my bathroom. My nights were filled with sounds of crickets,…

Washington Hikes: Buck Creek Falls
Sometimes, you find a hike so beautiful, it makes you cry. That’s what Buck Creek Falls, located near White Salmon in Washington, did to me. Even better, I was the only one on the trail the day that I went. Of all the Washington hikes I’ve done, this one has been my favorite. I hiked the Buck Creek Falls Trail in the spring, the best time, as there were beautiful wildflowers blooming and a good amount of water flowing from the falls. I hiked the longer six-mile hike from Buck Creek Trailhead #1 which gave me the advantage of seeing Mt. Hood from the start of the hike, and going…
