There are many wonderful San Miguel de Allende restaurants to choose from. Here are my recommendations for the cheap eats where the food is usually even better than what you will pay at some of the more expensive restaurants in town which cater to tourists. ¡Buen provecho! 1. A Perfect Meal At La Teca
Yes, I have had many blissful food moments in my life, but very few that have actually transformed me. Today, I met a woman, who I believe, was even more passionate about cooking than me (and that is hard to do!). To get there I had to take the first taxi that I’ve had to in Oaxaca because this restaurant was a little far from the main tourist area. I considered this a good sign already. Oaxaca Restaurants
The food of Oaxaca is the best that I have eaten anywhere. The moles which have simmered for hours bring the taste of spice and earth, a mouth-warming delight. Soups look so simple, yet are amazingly complex. Tamales and tortillas and guacamole, smokey mescal, oh and the cheese. The freshest eggs I’ve ever had, chiles, and tomatoes and dark rich coffee.
