Clock Inn-A Cheap Hotel In Colombo, Sri Lanka
If you are looking for a cheap hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the Clock Inn is a good place to stay. It is in a great location on Galle Road close to good restaurants such as the Barefoot Garden Cafe and The Gallery Cafe. The room is stylish, though small, in the European fashion. It is fairly clean. I did find several hairs on the floor, so it’s not immaculately clean, but clean enough. There are both private rooms and dorm rooms.
The private rooms have AC, free Wi-Fi, a TV with LCD flat screen, and hot water. They are $50 a night. The dorm rooms are $16 a night and have AC, Wi-Fi and lockers. They also offer an open kitchen if you want to cook your own meals. I found my stay pleasant, although the service could stand to be improved. I did arrive late at two in the morning, but the guy at the desk didn’t greet me with the friendly hello that I’ve found in the rest of Sri Lanka, only a blank stare, which seemed to ask. “Why exactly are you here?” It was only when I was struggling with my heavy backpack that he offered to carry it up the stairs for me. If you are looking for a cheap hotel in Colombo, the Clock Inn is a reasonable budget place to stay, well-located, convenient, and comfortable.
Wow, I’d say that was expensive! We’re really struggling to find reasonably priced accommodation in Sri Lanka online, we arrive in just over 2 weeks. I’m really shocked how expensive it is. Very disappointing. I’ve got a room for 4 people in Colombo for $25/night, but that’s just our first night. Hope it isn’t too hard!
Unfortunately, Sri Lanka is VERY expensive. I honestly didn’t find it worth the price I had to pay to stay there.
