Why You Definitely Want To See The Marietas Islands With MiraMar Excursions
In the Bay of Banderas, just off the coast of Yelapa, Mexico is a preserved bird sanctuary with so many birds, you won’t believe it. The Marietas Islands is the only nesting ground besides the Galapagos Islands where you will find the blue-footed booby. This is also where you will find, “The Hidden Beach” (which isn’t so hidden, as it’s visited daily by hundreds of tourists.) It’s absolutely stunning, and the amount of wildlife you will see is absolutely incredible. I went with MiraMar Excursions and what a memorable trip it was! Seeing humpback whales on the trip was the highlight of the trip. There were also dolphins, and I…

Vereda: A Jungle Oasis Place To Stay In Yelapa, Mexico
When I entered the jungle grounds of Vereda, in Yelapa, Mexico, I felt my entire body relax. After the busy madness of Puerto Vallarta, arriving at Vereda seemed like something out of a dream. Set in the jungle part of Yelapa, I walked down the magical vined walkway to a Paradise full of butterflies, iguanas, and beautiful jungle birds. For my first few nights, I stayed in the Palapa Primavera, a gorgeous palapa cabin that brought so much nature inside the cabin. I loved having my own private outdoor area, and the way that jungle vines provided the ceiling for my bathroom. My nights were filled with sounds of crickets,…

Heven Zipolite: A Bed And Breakfast With A View
Heven Zipolite is just that. Complete bliss that leaves you definitely feeling like you are in heaven! The views are stunning, and I loved being able to watch the sun rise and set each night from Heven. The infinity pool has one of the best views I’ve ever seen. And, breakfast is included in the room rate! (I don’t know of any other place in Zipolite that includes breakfast.) Heven Zipolite is like no other bed and breakfast on Earth! For one, it’s clothing optional, so you don’t have to put your clothes back on after spending time at the nude beach, like you do at many of the other hotels in…

Day Of The Dead (Dia de los Muertos)-It’s So Alive
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man…. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.” When I first came to Mexico, Mexico taught me how to live. I learned to slow down, to live for each day. I learned how to celebrate each and every moment. On…
