Casa de la Bu: A Charming San Miguel de Allende Hotel

    November 23, 2015 / No Comments

If you are looking for a San Miguel de Allende hotel, I would highly recommend Casa de la Bu. This San Miguel de Allende hotel has a perfect location, only blocks from the Jardin, the main center of town. This charming 3-bedroom hotel has terraces to enjoy the perfect weather in San Miguel. There’s a kitchen which allows you to cook your own meals if you wish, though there are plenty of cheap eats in San Miguel de Allende.  The rooms are cozy and pleasant. Though, they lack TV’s, there is a TV in the common room. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel. Continental breakfast is complimentary and served…

7 Best Restaurants You Shouldn’t Miss In San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

    December 6, 2014 / 2 Comments

San Miguel de Allende has a big expat crowd, so the town offers a variety of types of restaurants. There’s something for every budget from cheap eats to fine dining. Here are my recommendation for the best restaurants you just shouldn’t miss in San Miguel. 1.  La Mesa Grande My favorite time to go to La Mesa Grande is for their Thursday night pizza night when they also have live music. The pizza is made in a pizza oven, so it’s really good. They also have great bagel sandwiches, salads, and breakfast. The breakfast menu is centered around their breads, but also includes huevos rancheros & chilaquiles. The family style seating also makes it…

San Miguel de Allende Food: 4 Places For Sweet Treats

    November 24, 2013 / 10 Comments

Yes, I’ve got a sweet tooth.  My favorite book as a child was, “The Sweet Touch” where everything the girl touched turns to candy.  I am loving all the San Miguel de Allende food, but my particular favorite are all the amazing desserts that San Miguel has to offer.  Here are 4 of my favorites for dessert in San Miguel de Allende. 1.  La Buena Vida Bakery La Buena Vida is my favorite bakery in San Miguel de Allende for many reasons ( the bread, the cinnamon rolls, the chocolate croissants, cookies) but my favorite thing by far are their doughnuts.  They are absolutely perfect.  My favorite one is the…

San Miguel de Allende Restaurants: 7 Cheap Eats

    November 6, 2013 / 19 Comments

There are many wonderful San Miguel de Allende restaurants to choose from. Here are my recommendations for the cheap eats where the food is usually even better than what you will pay at some of the more expensive restaurants in town which cater to tourists. ¡Buen provecho! 1.  La Valentina Antojitos- This place is right off of the Jardin and is super cheap.  They have great posole, flautas and soups, usually between 35-60 pesos.  ($3-$5).  It’s one of my favorite places to eat when activities are going on in the Jardin, as you don’t have to walk very far to get something to eat.  I also love that I’m usually…

Join Me For A Magical Walk Through San Miguel de Allende

    September 22, 2013 / 22 Comments

Magic is the energy I feel each day when I awake in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  Suspended in time is what I feel when I walk through San Miguel de Allende’s cobblestone streets.  The days seem to end before they even began. You have filled my senses to the brim during your sunlit days.  The sound of church bells fills my ears mixed with the crackle of thunder and fireworks being shot through your cannons. The smell of your chilies mingled with lavender and mint from your gardens stirs me. I am seduced with the beauty of your doorways.  Each doorway the hues of  paprika, mustard, and naranja, burning into…
