Phuket-How I Created My Own Sanctuary Among The Crowds
Stepping onto the island of Phuket was a bit like stepping into a very beautiful house. But once you are in that house, you soon discover it is owned by a hoarder and there is not one bit of space for anything more, not even you. I have never seen more shops, restaurants, and bars packed into one space in my life, and anything else that you may want to enjoy. A spa where you can go stick your feet in the water and have the fish nibble the dead skin off of your feet? They’ve got it. A store that sells fake iPads for$100? That’s there, too. I was…

Belize Food-Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker
The food of Belize is incredible. With its fresh seafood, ceviche, conch fritters, and street stands serving jerk chicken and pupusas, you could easily spend your entire time eating. Good thing there’s a beautiful beach to distract you! Unless otherwise noted on the captions, these restaurants are found on Ambergris Caye.

Los Colibris Casitas
Todos Santos, Mexico was one of those charming places that captivated me the minute I arrived. If you stay at Los Colibris Casitas, you will never want to leave. They gave me all kinds of advice about where to eat and what to do while I was there.…

“You must speak like water,” were the words spoken to me by Rafa, my new friend from Spain. He and his girlfriend, Kristina, were trying to teach me Spanish. I was speaking too slowly for them and not flowing in my words. It was then that I realized this really should be a metaphor for our lives. We should live like water. Flowing gently, turning and twisting to form our own path but never losing that power that makes water so strong. So strong to even make rocks smooth. You must speak like water. Live like water. Shaping our own paths and influencing other peoples lives. We had met on…

A Perfect Meal At La Teca
Yes, I have had many blissful food moments in my life, but very few that have actually transformed me. Today, I met a woman, who I believe, was even more passionate about cooking than me (and that is hard to do!). To get there I had to take the first taxi that I’ve had to in Oaxaca because this restaurant was a little far from the main tourist area. I considered this a good sign already. But, when I got there, I arrived to find a big black door and a closed garage door at the address. They didn’t appear to be open. However, my timing was perfect as a…
